Tips for Beautiful Hair

Dull, drab hair which is in bad condition can seem like it’s impossible to get rid of. It’s true that it might take some perseverance to get it looking good, but soft, healthy locks are certainly not out of your reach. With a little care, and by using the right products, you can completely transform your hair’s condition and appearance. In turn, this can entirely change the way you feel – looking good and having confidence can give you a whole new lease of life.

Follow our top tips to get beautiful hair, and to keep it looking that way:

1.    Protect your hair from harsh he
at. When blow drying or straightening your hair, always ensure that you use a decent heat protection treatment to prevent split ends and breakage. They’ll mostly come as a spray, which should form a light mist over the hair.

2.    When you use heat styling equipment, don’t have it on the hottest setting if you can avoid it. Usually a lower heat setting will do just as good a job, and you’ll be protecting the lengths and ends from damage.

3.    Use argan oil. This miracle product can be used on dry or wet hair, and it’s incredibly nourishing. You’ll only need the tiniest amount to give your hair a beautiful shine.

.    Get your hair trimmed regularly. If you’re trying to grow it, this might seem counter-productive, but actually healthy hair will grow more quickly. You’ll need to have more cut off in future if you end up with long, straggly lengths which are weak and full of split ends – prevention is better than cure. A trim every 6-10 weeks usually works for most people.

5.    Choose salon brands. When you’re selecting your styling tools and products, choosing ones which are more premium will definitely pay off. Salon branded shampoo especially will make an enormous difference to your hair’s condition.

6.    Use a conditioning mask. You don’t have to do this all the time, but a regular treatment can help to revitalise your hair and keep it strong and healthy. If you have coloured hair, this can be especially useful for locking in your colour and keeping it vibrant.

7.    Use dry shampoo. This will allow you to wait longer between washes, saving your colour and preventing you from needing to blow dry too often.

8.    Keep your hair moisturised with leave-in conditioner. This will make it look shiny and healthy, and will help to prevent static.

9.    Take your hairdresser’s advice. They’re a trained professional, and will be the person in the best position to know what will suit you. They can tell you the styles and colours which will  complement your face shape and complexion.

10.     Protect your hair from the sun. Aside from styling equipment like straightening irons and hair dryers, the sun is one of the biggest culprits for damaging your hair. On holiday and during the summer, try to wear a hat or a bandanna to cover your hair as much as possible. When it is exposed, use a sun protection spray. This will keep hair moisturised and will protect from UV rays which can cause fading and dryness.
