Hair Gel, Hair Wax Or Hair Spray?

Hair gel, wax and spray. They are all supposed to make your hair look good, but how exactly? Sometimes each can be used in different ways and for different purposes. Here are some tips on each hair product.

Hair gel is used mostly to create a style. Gel is best used as a kind of mould to make your hair do stylish things. Gel tends to look quite sticky and messy if not used skilfully, so get practicing!

Hair wax, similar to gel, is usually used to shape your hair. Wax tends to have a stronger hold than gel though which is great for those who have longer hair. It leaves less of a shine than hair gel, giving a more natural look if rubbed in well.

Hair spray is used to keep a hairstyle in place. After you are done shaping your hair however you want, hairspray acts like the cement to hold it together.

Finding The Right Hairspray

There are so many different types of hairspray out there, meaning some may not be suitable for your type of hair. So here’s a few tips to help you for when you’re next in the shop looking at that massive hair product aisle.

First you need to know how strong you need your hairspray. If you’re going to be creating complicated styles then you’ll need strong spray, whilst a light hold spray is perfect for smoothing out locks.

The other factor think about is whether yo go for an aerosol or non-aerosol spray. Aerosol is good for easy, standard use but if you’re looking for a wet, slicker look then we recommend going with a non-aerosol option.

Some Rules For Healthy Hair (Part 2)

In the previous post, we started taking a look into some of the things you can actively do to try and ensure you hair stays looking glamorous. We shall now continue.

Have Regular Hair Cuts

Try and maintain a regular hair care regime that allows your hair to grow, but not end up with an abundance of split ends and evident damaged hair. By doing so you hair will appreciate it and yes, so will your stylist.

Deep Hair Treatments

At least once a month it is worth while having a deep conditioning. This helps protect and rebuild the hair from cutting and heat (or otherwise) related styling. When you use such heat related styling tools they can go to exceedingly hot temperatures that if not properly taken care of can seriously harm your hair. If you accompany that with a daily hair oil treatment that works for your hair type and doesn’t leave it a greasy as an A road burger van you will be all good.

Colours are back with a Bang

Colours will come and go, but for now, they’re certainly back with a bang. Bold colours such as lightening blues and reds are popular, and it will certainly bring some vibrancy to your hair style.

Dip-dye seemed to be the big trend in 2013, and now it seems to be back to the days of full hair dyeing. It certainly takes a brave person to completely change their hairstyle to red, blue or pink, but more and more people are doing it, and it could give you the inspiration to do it too.

If you’re fed up of sporting the same hair colour, then never forget about the bold colours that you can choose from. If you do regularly dye your hair, however, then you may need some time to give your hair a break, so bold colours should always depend on the current health of your hair.
