Curly or straight hair, we all want it all.

It is always the way, that whatever hair we were blessed with, we always want the opposite. Whether you have straight hair and want it curly or curly and want it straight, there are solutions that can help with changing your hair.

Perms sound very old school these days, and tend to be associated with grandmothers, well having a perm simple means you can change the structure of your hair, making it curly or straight. Perms can be put into your hair to make it either straight or curly. Perming your hair does require a professional and somebody with perming experience, the solutions when used incorrectly can cause more damage to your locks than bleach.

Have a consultation with your hairdresser to discuss what type of curly hair you desire, as the style can depend upon the rollers and technique used. If you don’t feel ready to make a permanent change then simply get your curling tongs out.

Nude Hair Colouring

There’s a lot of talk about warm and cool hair colours in the fashion world, but what’s the deal with the neutral ones, like nude hair. Well, nude coloured hair is becoming extremely popular and it’s mainly because it provides a balance between the two. With nude hair, there’s an even amount of warm and cool shades, which cancel each other out to create a neutral colour. Cara Delavigne parades nude hair on a daily basis, and it’s almost caramel in colour, not too warm yet not too cool. The great thing with this shade is that it can be very flattering on all skin tones, so it doesn’t matter whether you’re naturally pale or sun-kissed with an olive shine. We expect this colour to grow even more popular throughout the course of the year, and you’ll see more models walking down the catwalk with this stunning new look.

Highlights – A no go for men

It was a bit of a trend in the early 2000s, many male celebrities had blonde highlights running through their hair, and one of them was the ever popular David Beckham! The only man you ever see with this style now is Barnie Simpson from How I Met Your Mother, and that shows is very last year.

Blonde highlights have always given guys a bit of a ‘pretty boy’ or ‘boy band’ look and we’ve now moved into the stage where rugged looks are popular. It’s all about big bushy beards and it doesn’t look like there’s any way back for the clean-shaven face with a head of highlights. I think many guys will look back and laugh at how embarrassing it was for many years to come.

Beard trims – why you should always go to a barber

No matter how much you love growing your beard, there will come a time when it needs a bit of a tidy up. As tempting as it may be to tame your beard back on your own, it’s probably best that you head to a professional barbers. They can make sure it is evenly cut in a way that allows it to grow further without it looking untidy, whilst they’ll also shampoo and condition it, leaving it feeling soft and fluffy. Once you’ve had a neat beard trim, it’s best to stock up on oils and creams, as they’ll help to make sure your stylish beard is always in check, and one of the most popular brands is the Bedfordshire Beard Company. There are lots of scents to choose between, so it’s easy to find a product that’s right for your beloved beard.

Get the Festival Look

The festival look is back this summer, and styles include beachy waves, boho braids and fishtail plaits, while pastel shades add a hint of punk to the style. With beachy waves, you’re pretty much good to go for a festival or a beach party, and if you’re fortunate enough to have luscious waves, then go natural and let your hair do it’s thing!

Boho braids are very much IN right now, and these braids are quick and easy to create, and it helps you look as though you’ve made an effort, even though you really haven’t. Fishtail plaits were here last summer and they’re back again. They hold well when the plait has been created correctly, and they work best on long hair (preferably past the shoulders). The plait is easy to do when you’ve had some practice, and it can look great if you have a dip dye colour.
