Tips For Curling Your Hair

Are you looking to curl your hair but only have a flat iron available? Don’t worry, you can still get amazing results with a flat iron. Check out our handy tips below.

When using your a flat iron to curl your hair, use it in a similar way as a curling iron by wrapping your hair, but make sure not to close the flat iron completely. Don’t wrap too much of your hair round the flat iron at once, as it will be too tough to curl in the desired effect. You can avoid curling the tips of your hair till the end as they don’t require much heat to curl.

(If you have blonde hair, use less heat and scale up, otherwise your hair may darken.)

How To Make Fine Hair Look Thicker

Fine hair is a problem many males have. If you want to make your hair look like it has volume and thickness, then check out the tips below.

Long hair can weigh down fine hair, so we recommend you consider a shorter cut. If you want your hair to have more volume, then we recommend having a short cut with layers.

This is obvious, but use thickening shampoo and conditioner . These were created to give fine hair more support and density. Alpecin is a good shampoo to use.

One common mistake made by men with fine hair, is the use of heavy styling products. Styling products add weight and separate hair, so if you have fine hair we recommend you use a tiny amount of product, or use hairspray.

The Best Way To Maintain Healthy Dreadlocks

If you have dreadlocks, it’s important to know how to maintain them properly. So we’ve created this article to help you and your locks!

Wash your hair weekly – For your dreads to stay healthy and lock well, they need to be clean. A weekly wash is recommended and what’s great is you can use any type of shampoo on the hair as long as it’s non-residue.

We also recommend conditioning as it’s vital in maintaining the shine and health of your dreadlocks. Of all the conditioning formulas tested, we’ve found an apple cider vinegar rinse as the most effective mix to help your dreadlocks look at its best.

For night time, we recommend wrapping your hair with a night scarf as locks shed a lot, meaning that protecting your scalp and edges is extremely important.

How To Braid Your Own Hair

Never braided your hair before and need some advice on the best way to go about it all? Well you’ve clicked onto the right page!

Before you start anything, make sure to brush your hair to a point where it doesn’t tangle easily. Then work out where you want your braid to sit, you can braid to either side or straight down the centre. Then grab your hair at the base of your skull and divide the hair into three sections.

This is harder to type than do, so cross the right section over the centre section, grabbing the right section with the index finger on your left hand. It really is much easier to do than read about! Repeat this technique until it moves down the length of your hair and then when you’re at the bottom, tie your hair. Then you’re done!

Some Rules For Healthy Hair

Lets face it, we all want to have nice hair. Or at least manageable hair on a day to day basis. Whether you spend 40 or 4 minutes a day on your hair you still require it to look healthy and radiant. Here are some things you can do to keep your hair full of body and shine:

Be Realistic

Everyone’s hair is slightly different. Even if you have similar characteristic in your hair as someone else’s, it is fundamentally distinctive in the manner in which it responds to treatments and styles. Some styles just wont work on some hair types and some styles look better than others so be realistic about your approach to your hair instead of giving your hair stylist a mid life crisis.

Stick To One Stylist

If you have a stylist.. Stick to them! Once you establish a good understanding with your hair dresser it is best to keep with them. You not only will get the desired effect (9 times out of 10) but they will help you bring the best out in your hair and keeping looking vibrant and healthy.
